Melbourne City FC will begin their 2018/19 Hyundai A-League season with a blockbuster Melbourne Derby in October.
City will face Melbourne Victory at the newly renamed Marvel Stadium on Saturday 20th October, in what is set to be the first of three Melbourne Derbies in the new season.
Warren Joyce’s side will host the annual Christmas Derby on Saturday, 22nd December at AAMI Park, before the two Melbourne rivals meet for a third and final time on February 23.
City will host 13 matches throughout the season – all of which will be played at AAMI Park in Melbourne.

Those fixtures include two matches against Newcastle Jets, two against Brisbane Roar, two against Adelaide United and two against Perth Glory.
City’s first home fixtures will include back-to-back Friday night blockbusters in Round 3 and 4 where they will host Sydney FC and Central Coast Mariners on November 2 and November 9 respectively.
As always, City face a busy January period where they will play five matches in 15 days between January 11 and 26. This will include three home fixtures at AAMI Park against Brisbane Roar, Perth Glory and Western Sydney Wanderers with trips to Central Coast and Wellington in between.
In Round 22, Joyce’s men will head to Sydney to face the Sky Blues at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on March 16 – the Club’s first ever fixture at the historic venue.
In other notable fixtures, Western Sydney Wanderers will host City in the annual New Year’s Day fixture on Tuesday, 1st January, before the Wanderers head to Melbourne for what is set to be an entertaining Tuesday night clash at AAMI Park on January 22.
The Hyundai A-League 2019 Finals Series will begin on the weekend of 3-5 May 2019 with the Hyundai A-League 2019 Grand Final scheduled for the weekend of 18-19 May 2019.
