Melbourne City FC has announced its Foxtel Y-League squad for the 2018/19 season, ahead of the Club’s season opener against Brisbane Roar this weekend.

Head Coach Joe Palatsides has named his squad for the upcoming season – which commences for the Club this Saturday 17 November – against fellow Conference A side Brisbane Roar at Logan Football Complex in Round 2 after an opening round bye.

The squad boasts some of the Club’s most promising young talent, including five Young Socceroos in Connor Metcalfe, James Delianov, Moudi Najjar, Dylan Pierias and Josh Cavallo – players all returning to the squad from last season, representing their nation at the AFC U19 Championships in Indonesia last month. Joeys, Jordan Bos, Luke Duzel and Josh Varga also feature in the 20-man squad that will also be supplemented by 15 of the Club’s academy players.

City, who finished last season atop of Group A before going down 3-1 against Western Sydney Wanderers in the Y-League Grand Final, will look to continue last season’s dominance in their pool.

Conference A will again be made up of Melbourne City, Adelaide United, Brisbane Roar, Melbourne Victory and Perth Glory.
