Thanks to all who took part in the Melbourne Heart Syndicate-s ‘Name The Team- competition.
We had an outstanding response, with thousands of fans entering for the chance to help shape Australian football history and etch their name into club folklore.
The name that emerged as the overwhelming favourite among the voting public, along with the design for the home and away strip, have now been submitted for approval.
We apologise for not being able to make the announcement by Christmas, but the legal process has taken longer than anticipated.
The club has also been actively working on the recruitment front, and I am proud to say player signings are on track, with announcements of youth players, including a couple of Victorians, set to take place in January.
I believe it is important that the club does not lose sight of its responsibility to help foster and develop the next generation of Australian talent to ensure we build an enduring legacy.
Negotiations regarding our stadium deal and training facilities are also progressing very well and we hope to be able to regularly update you of the latest news on that front.
