Aloisi: We Will Start Winning Again

Melbourne Heart FC striker John Aloisi believes his side has what it takes to bounce back from a lean run when it faces Gold Coast United on Sunday.

Melbourne Heart FC striker John Aloisi believes his side has what it takes to bounce back from a lean run when it faces Gold Coast United on Sunday.

The Club has struggled to find the back of the net in recent weeks as the strain of a taxing schedule took hold, with Heart failing to claim three points over the last four matches.

Aloisi though believes Heart is on the cusp of turnaround in fortunes, reiterating the importance of converting chances in front of goal.

“We need to start winning again and I think if we keep on creating chances we will score goals. As a striker, you always want to score each week, and when the ball doesn-t go in, you-re a little bit upset,” he said.

“We have to stay positive and make sure we keep on getting in those positions, playing in the right way we want to play and the ball will go in and we will start winning games again.”
With Head Coach John van ‘t Schip committed to promoting an attractive, technical approach to the game, Heart has drawn praise this season for its football philosophy.

Aloisi is confident feels this approach will reap dividends over the coming games as Heart approaches a potentially season defining run of matches, culminating in the second Melbourne Derby.

“If we keep creating chances and playing the style want to play and the coach wants us to play, we are going to score goals, and we have players who can score goals, we have got players who can score goals out of nothing too,” he said.

“It-s been a bit of a hard month for us with all of the travelling, and all the games, so that-s affected us a bit, but we-ve had a good training week and I-m sure we-ll do well on Sunday, and we then have another big week coming up.”
