Another Melbourne Derby is once again around the corner.

Another Melbourne Derby is once again around the corner.

While the coaching staff only focuses on one match at a time, the excitement associated with a clash between rivals is inescapable. Indeed, over the last two years, the Melbourne Derby has grown into one of the biggest fixtures in the Hyundai A-League.

Since the New Year, we have been short on obtaining the number of points we think we deserved. The team performed well in matches against Brisbane Roar and Central Coast Mariners only to collect a single point.

Although our target is to win tomorrow night by playing good football, and I-m hopeful the match will be a wonderful spectacle for all supporters, the most important thing for our Club at this point in time is to collect three points.

My primary objective has always been our style of play, and the way we approach the game. If you train, and focus on playing good football, results will ultimately come in the end. However, sometimes, it is possible to win without drawing on that mentality and play.

I expect the boys will cope very well with the occasion, as well as the absence of Aziz Behich, Mate Dugandzic, Jason Hoffman and Matt Thompson, who will miss up to four weeks with a knee injury.
We know we will miss certain players, but to simply focus on that aspect won-t get you anywhere.

We simply have to move on and work with the group of players who are available. And I-m very confident in all the players in our squad. I enjoy witnessing the development of our players, and hopefully, this can be combined with a positive result tomorrow night.
