Over the last two games, we haven’t played the way we wanted or got the points we had in mind.

Over the last two games, we haven-t played the way we wanted or got the points we had in mind.

That-s something we are obviously a little disappointed about, but we also know with some injuries and a tough program ahead, we have to show character now.

Fred will certainly be missed. He-s our captain and an experienced player in a young team who brings a lot of positive energy into the line-up every game.

However, it-s also an opportunity for other players to step up to the line-up themselves.

Kristian Sarkies is one such example. He performed well in his return to the match day squad last week, and scoring a goal would unquestionably provide him with a confidence boost.

Looking at Perth Glory, they are team who have changed in their approach over the last few weeks, and are playing good football.

They performed well over in Wellington, so they are likely to be confident as they travel to AAMI Park to face us on Sunday.

Perth likes to utilise the wings to deliver the ball to Shane Smeltz, while Steven McGarry and Liam Miller are a dangerous combination through the middle of the park with their vision.

With the match the first of three in six days, we have prepared for the potential fatigue faced by the team, and following consultation with our medical staff, allowed the players an additional day off.

They were a little flat last week, so hopefully, with the added rest, the team will have enough energy for the upcoming week.

We will approach it game by game, and look to assess player well being after every match to ensure we have the best possible team on the park.
