Melbourne Heart FC-s Michael Beauchamp will be sidelined for at least two weeks after suffering an ankle injury during last week-s clash with Adelaide United.
The 29-year-old landed awkwardly on his ankle during the first half of Friday night-s match, but managed to shrug discomfort to play out the remainder of the contest.
However, scans have since confirmed Beauchamp will be out of action for a fortnight.
General Manager, Football Operations John Didulica said: “It-s obviously disappointing to lose a player of Michael-s quality, particular given the importance of continuity during this early stage of the season.
“However, his absence will create an opportunity for another player to move into the void and stake his claim for a starting berth.”
