Melbourne Heart FC-s latest recruit – foundation player Aziz Behich – has emphasised his belief in the Red and White ahead of the 2013-14 Hyundai A-League season.

Behich, 22, returned to Melbourne yesterday after a stint with Turkish Super Lig club Bursaspor, and commenced training this week with John Aloisi-s squad, alongside some new – and familiar – faces.

Behich re-joins Melbourne Heart on a one-season loan, having appeared 65 times for the Club in three previous seasons.

“I-m really looking forward to the season and I-m excited to play for the Heart again,” Behich said.

“I-m actually really excited to be back here and I-m really looking forward to working under John and [Assistant Coach] Hayden [Foxe] again and I just want to put the shirt on and get playing again.”

Behich said he had enjoyed the experience with Bursaspor, but felt it was the right time to seek regular game time at Heart.

“Over the five to six months there I-ve learned a lot; [Turkey] is obviously different to Australia, the culture is different, the football is different, so I have taken a lot in, in the time I have been there,” Behich said.

“I enjoyed my time… Bursaspor is a big club, it-s a great club as well… but I-m back with the Heart; now I-m just going to try to do my best here and hopefully we can do well in the season.”

Behich said he had a strong connection with the Red and White – where he initially earned recognition for his for performances at left back.

“Heart was my first option if I was to return to Australia; I love the club, so it was a pretty easy option for me,” Behich said.

“At the moment, I-m just here and just focussed on doing well for the Heart.”

Behich said there had been some obvious changes to Heart’s squad since he left in January this year; however, believed the Club was well placed for a finals berth this season.

“Obviously the change of personnel; there-s a lot of different of players – I met most of them for the first time yesterday and it seems like a good bunch of players so hopefully we can give the season a good shake this year,” Behich said.

“I would love to win a title for the club.”

Behich will wear the number 16 shirt for Melbourne Heart.
