Bespoke Cityzens Giving jerseys raise over $12,000 for Cityzens Giving for Recovery campaign!

Melbourne City FC, in partnership with Etihad Airways, unveiled a bespoke match-day jersey to recognise the beginning of a global effort to recover from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic ahead of City’s 2-0 win over Sydney FC on Saturday.

Etihad dedicated the front of shirt space, ordinarily bearing the Etihad logo, to the Cityzens Giving for Recovery’ campaign, City Football Group and Melbourne City’s 12-month campaign devoted to helping local communities get back on their feet.

The exclusive match worn shirts were available for auction ahead of the match, with City fans playing their part to raise over $12,000 for the recovery process!

The bespoke jerseys and customised warm up shirts, which will be worn ahead of City’s clash with Adelaide United on Tuesday 11 August, were auctioned for just over $6,000 ahead of kick off, a figure that’s been matched dollar for dollar by the City Football Group.

We would like to thank everyone who participated and donated through the auction, with a special shout out to City fan Michael Ong for his incredible contribution! All contributions will go a long way to helping us, alongside SecondBite, assist communities who are doing it tough at the moment.

There are plenty more wonderful items available on the auction so click here and get involved!
