One of the world’s biggest sports stars, Jamaican sprint champion Usain Bolt, dropped in for a casual kick with Melbourne Heart FC’s National Youth Team yesterday, taking time out to mingle with the Club’s aspiring football stars.

Bolt, a sporting legend, Olympic champion and the world’s fastest man, is in Melbourne on holiday after another incredible Olympic campaign in London on the athletics track where he snared three gold medals.

A self-confessed football fan, Bolt organised a laid-back five-aside hit-out with members of Heart’s youth team and senior player Benjamin Garuccio while enjoying time out during his vacation.

While Bolt left players guessing about which position he would potentially play in, featuring across the field, parking his gigantic frame in front of goal at one point, while bursting out of the blocks on other occasions, there was no doubt Bolt enjoyed the experience.

Bolt toyed and joked with the Heart players and shared a laugh, a handshake, photo and autograph with some of the young fans, including Aloisi’s and Heart assistant coach Hayden Foxe’s families.

Heart Head Coach John Aloisi presented Bolt with a number 12 jersey and announced the Jamaican legend as our latest fan, while Bolt passed on a good luck message for tonight’s Melbourne derby.

A World and Olympic Champion we welcome Bolt on board with the Red and White
