As the euphoria of Melbourne Heart FC-s breakthrough triumph over Brisbane Roar fades into the distance, goalkeeper Clint Bolton has targeted back-to-back wins leading into the festive season.

With matches against Perth Glory and Victory lying in the immediate horizon, the upcoming fixtures will provide Heart with an opportunity to consolidate its place in the top three heading into the latter part of the season.

Facing the enticing prospect of playing 10 of the last 16 matches of the season at AAMI Park, the stage is set for Heart to mount a concerted campaign to claim a debut finals berth.

But Bolton refuses to look too far ahead, instead concentrating on the tasks while lie ahead over the next fortnight.

“Our aim over the next few weeks is to enjoy Christmas, and the only way we can do that is by winning,” he said. “We don-t want to head into the 25th of December off the back of a couple of poor results.”

Given the recent upturn in form, with Heart recording four wins from the last five matches, interest in the Red and White is reaching a crescendo, as the side makes it mark via results on the park.

Bolton said: “If we can produce wins, it will bring the focus back to us. We are doing the right things off the park, but it-s important we keep delivering on it as well.

“We came in last year and set a standard straight away. Our ethos has always been about engaging Victoria at large as a football community, we-re doing that all the time and now it-s about producing on the park to enable this club to have a sustained long term future.”
