Melbourne City’s Under 14 Academy side will head to the United States this week to compete in the Nexen Manchester City Cup in San Diego.

The 24-team tournament will see City compete against some of the best academies in North America – including Manchester City – in what will be the Club’s first tournament including Melbourne City, Manchester City and New York City Football Clubs.

City’s 18-player squad – lead by Head Coach Max Clarke – will be competing in Bracket D with MLS Side LAFC, Washington-based academy Crossfire Premier and Mexican giants Chivas Guadalajara, facing the latter in the first group match on Friday 24 May.

The Club’s first group match will be televised via the WATCHESPN platform in Australia or the ESPN app at 7am on Friday. This can be accessed with your Foxtel or Fetch account details: http://www.espn.com/watch/

We would like to wish the team and staff all the best for the tournament!
