Melbourne City Development Grant for Ballarat

The first of the Melbourne City Development grants for football in Ballarat was awarded on Friday night prior to our NPL match against Ballarat Red Devils. Melbourne City NPL coach Joe Montemurro presented the grant to Dennis Wanjiku, who moved to Ballarat from Kenya 6 months ago. The grant will assist in covering the cost of uniform and boots so that Dennis can play with Ballarat North SC. We wish Dennis every success with his football and hope he makes new friends and enjoys his time with the club. Click here for more infromation of the Melbourne City FC Ballarat Grant.

City Sisters visit Street Soccer

The young women from MatchWorks and the Melbourne City’s ‘City Sisters’ program visited the Women’s Street Soccer program at North Melbourne last week. They spent the first part of the day practicing job interview techniques and then joined the women for a soccer session at the North Melbourne Community Centre. Louisa Bisby has been coaching the City Sisters and it was clear that everyone has improved. The day was so enjoyable that the City Sisters plan to visit North Melbourne regularly to play with the Street Soccer participants.
