City in the Community (CITC) week is back for 2019 showcasing the Club’s commitment to a range of different community initiatives.

The overarching theme of the week leads into the global Cityzens Giving campaign as CITC Melbourne looks to promote its ‘I Speak Football’ campaign for the share of $750,000 with programs in Heidelberg, Fitzroy, Braybrook and Carlton.

CITC will also be showcasing its partnership with MatchWorks through its City at Work program. The initiative is a four-week employment program for mature-age job seekers aged 45 plus. This life changing program focuses on strengthening people’s confidence, boosting employability skills and developing heathy habits to enhance mental and physical wellbeing.

Participatns will join us on Friday night for a special match day experience at AAMI Park as well as their regular program with MatchWorks in Greensborough.

The CITC team will be at the Victorian Disability Sport and Recreation festival in Southbank, showcasing a range of activities like blind football and will have participants as miniroos and mascots for the A-League side on match day.

VicHealth’s Soccer Mums will also have a presence at City Square with This Girl Can giveaways and activities for all the mums coming to the match.

The week will involve visits to local primary schools and include ‘Welcome to Football’ coaching courses at CFA Melbourne and in Shepparton as well as our International Students Tournament with the Victorian Government that helps students make friends and play football.
