Melbourne City FC has been honoured by the Victorian Police Blue Ribbon Foundation, receiving a Community Service Award during its annual breakfast in the city on Tuesday.

City’s long-standing relationship with the Blue Ribbon Foundation has seen City and Sydney FC battle for the Blue Ribbon Cup in the past six seasons, honouring all Victorian Police members who have been killed in the line of duty. The day supports the foundation in raising awareness for their work with the families of fallen members and the understanding of the risks taken by our public sevants.

Head of Community Sue Crow said she was proud of the Club’s work with the foundation.

“Every year, our commitment to the work of the Victoria Police and in particular, the Blue Ribbon Foundation grows,” Crow said.

“Last season, we had a large number of Victorian Police activations at the match including an Air wing fly over and a Colour Party, the first of its kind at a sporting event.

“I am always proud of the respect and engagement of our fans towards the Blue Ribbon Cup and all of its festivities.”
