Melbourne City FC is pleased to announce that this Saturday’s match against Manchester City FC at Cbus Super Stadium will be broadcast live on FOX SPORTS 503.
The match, the first between two City Football Group clubs, will see John van’t Schip’s Hyundai A-League outfit clash with Manuel Pellegrini’s English Premier League side on the Gold Coast in a historic encounter.
FOX SPORTS will provide live coverage from 5pm with Mark Bosnich and Richard Bayliss previewing the match before Mike Cockerill and Robbie Slater take over to call the action.
The broadcast will allow Melbourne City FC fans who are unable to attend the match in Queensland the opportunity to watch the first-ever clash against their sister club.
Manchester City touched down on the Gold Coast on Friday last week, travelling with the likes of star players Yaya Toure, Samir Nasri and captain Vincent Kompany for a 9-day camp as they prepare for the new Premier League campaign.
Melbourne City FC will arrive on the Gold Coast on Wednesday and marquee Robert Koren, Harry Novillo, Patrick Kisnorbo and new signing Aaron Hughes are expected to challenge their City counterparts for John van’t Schip’s side.
Melbourne City FC CEO Scott Munn said that it was a positive outcome for Melbourne City FC and Manchester City fans across Australia and in the United Kingdom.
“The interest in Manchester City’s visit has been fantastic and since we announced this match the local community has embraced it and ticket sales have been going well,” Munn said.
“To be able to give our members and fans in Melbourne and fans in the UK access to the broadcast, with the help of FOX SPORTS, is something that we’re really excited about.
“The Club would like to personally thank FOX SPORTS CEO Patrick Delany and his team for their work on securing the broadcast.”
