The Football Federation Australia (FFA) independent Disciplinary Committee – consisting of John Marshall SC, Lachlan Gyles SC and Peter Tsekenis – on Tuesday evening delivered their determination in the matter of Harry Novillo of Melbourne City FC.

The matter was referred to the independent Disciplinary Committee by Melbourne City FC for hearing and determination of the sole question of sanction. The incident referred to arose during half-time of Melbourne City FC’s Round 27 Hyundai A-League Match against Adelaide United on Friday, 8 April 2016.

The independent Disciplinary Committee determined that the Player must serve a suspension of the Mandatory Match suspension plus one (1) additional Hyundai A-League match for committing the offence of Assault on a Player (e.g. violent conduct when not challenging for the ball).

This determination confirms the sanction originally proposed by the Match Review Panel on 12 April 2016.

Harry Novillo will subsequently miss Friday’s Semi Final against Adelaide United on Friday 22 April, due to the suspension.
