Melbourne Heart FC are pleased to announce the Club will be running two ‘Coach the Coach’ sessions in March, 2014, involving some of Melbourne Heart’s coaches and high performance trainers.
Melbourne Heart FC are pleased to announce the Club will be running two ‘Coach the Coach’ sessions in March, 2014, involving some of Melbourne Heart-s coaches and high performance trainers.
The first session, to be held on March 4, will see Melbourne Heart FC’s Assistant Coach, Gerard Nus, and the Club’s High Performance Manager and Sports Science Coordinator, Simone Ripamonti, present coaching and training tips to aspiring coaches.
Nus is a former Liverpool Academy coach who worked under Rafael Benitez, and holds a UEFA Pro ‘A- Licence. Nus is also the author of the book “Warm up in Football: Training Sessions and Matches”, which has been published in both English and Spanish.
Ripamonti is the former first team Rehabilitation and Injury Prevention Coordinator at Al Nasr Football Club and holds a formal Strength and Conditioning Certificate from the Italian Football Federation.
The session is proudly supported by the Cardinia Shire Council.

The second ‘Coach the Coach- session will involve Melbourne Heart FC Head Coach John van-t Schip and Melbourne Heart FC Head Physiotherapist and Medical Services Manager Simon Storey.
Van-t Schip needs little introduction, as he possesses a wealth of coaching experience, having coached the Club in its inaugural season and returned to the helm early in January 2014.
Van-t Schip made 273 appearances for Ajax and 41 appearances for the Netherlands. He was also the Assistant Coach of the Netherlands between 2004-2008.
Storey joined Melbourne Heart FC-s medical team during the Hyundai A-League 2013-14 season, and he possesses a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at La Trobe University. Storey also made 57 appearances as a player in the A-League.
