Melbourne City FC can confirm it has extended Stefan Colakovski’s contract for two more seasons with the young forward being elevated to the senior list.

Colakovski was added to the Scholarship roster in November last year after making his debut against Wellington in Round 4 and the Melbourne City Academy product has impressed since joining the senior squad, earning an extension until the end of the 21/2022 season.

With strong cameos against Central Coast, Brisbane and Newcastle Jets, the youngster’s start to 2020 has seen him earn the praise of Head Coach Erick Mombaerts, as City looks to travel deep into the 2019/20 Hyundai A-League campaign.

The 19-year-old has spent the last three seasons as part of the Academy setup, representing the Club in the Foxtel Y-League and Victorian National Premier Leagues competitions.

Melbourne City FC Director of Football Michael Petrillo said:

“We’re incredibly proud to have one of our Academy products sign an extended deal with our senior squad which is testament to the hard work from both Stefan and our Academy staff,” Petrillo said.

“Stefan has stepped up over the past twelve months, taking his opportunity with the senior side to establish himself as one of the exciting, young prospects coming through at the Club. We’re looking forward to see Stefan continue his development at Melbourne City.”
