Colosimo Back For Gold Coast Match

Melbourne Heart FC Captain Simon Colosimo will be back in action during the Club’s home match against Gold Coast United at AAMI Park tomorrow night.

Melbourne Heart FC Captain Simon Colosimo will be back in action during the Club-s home match against Gold Coast United at AAMI Park tonight.

Colosimo missed Heart-s last outing through injury, but after successfully completing his recovery, the Club-s on-field leader is set to make a swift return to the starting line-up.

Head Coach John van ‘t Schip said: “Simon-s back. He had a full session yesterday with a group of players and it went very well so he will be back. He-s been out for quite a long period so we have to see if he can play 90 minutes and that-s another thing we-ll have to look at.”

After Alex Terra and Gerald Sibon made impressive cameo appearances during Saturday night-s match with Perth Glory, the duo have made significant progress on the road to full fitness.
But van ‘t Schip said the Club may be forced to err on the side of caution and delay their reintroduction to the first XI.

“Normally I think (Alex and Gerald would be close to a starting spot). But with them we have to look as we played in Perth, playing tomorrow and playing Saturday, it-s not like a normal week,” he said.

“If for example we had a week off, after the game we could easily say they are going to play 90 minutes and then have enough rest after that. We are thinking about letting them start or to come into the game, it depends on how they go today and how everyone pulls up.

He added: “We are looking at every game at a time. We had Perth, now we have Gold Coast and we have to see we can fit players every time on the pitch, and that-s the most important thing now.

“We have got almost every player fit, only Eli is unable to play and all the other players we can, in one way or another, use.”
