Melbourne City starlet Daniel Arzani has been named the Young Footballer of the year for 2017/18 season at the Dolan Warren awards in Sydney on Monday night.

The youngster’s break-out season dazzled City fans and followers of the A-League alike with his mercurial speed and skill on the ball.

Arzani debuted for City last season but established himself in the senior squad late in 2017, taking his opportunity given to him by Warren Joyce in a competitive final third.

Arzani beat out Bruce Kamau, Daniel De Silva, Joe Champness, Chris Ikonomidis and Thomas Deng for the award that sees him join the likes of Jamie Maclaren, Mat Ryan, Maro Rojas and Scott Jamieson as winners of the award.
