From the Dugout with JvS – Week 10

While Brisbane Roar fell to their first defeat in 36 matches last weekend, I-m certain their confidence wouldn-t have suffered at all.

Why should they change something that was good for 36 games? I think it-s very clear the way they play and they will not have any problems after the loss of last week. They will continue with their style of playing, and it will be up to us to be a competitive team.

In general we look every game where we are, and until now, we-ve been competitive in every game. We-ve won three, lost three and drawn three, that-s the average, and hopefully tonight we can show that we-re making steps. Playing against the best team in Australia is a big challenge for us.

Every game you have to look at differently. What you can take out of the game from last week of course is that winning is always good for the confidence, but there are still ways we can perform better, there is still improvement to make.

With our team, there are a number of young players, which is only positive. We-re working hard and I think the attitude in the group is very good, so we-ll see tonight if we can bring that onto the pitch as well.
