Our match against the Central Coast Mariners this weekend looms as the perfect test to assess the team-s development over the course of this season to date.

After a slow start, the Mariners are beginning to produce some strong performances, having won three of their last four matches.

Last season, they were undoubtedly one of the premier teams in the competition, having reached the Grand Final, and they once again seem poised to challenge for the title this campaign given they haven-t made any major changes to their squad from last season.

But while Central Coast away is certainly a stern test for any side, I personally feel every game in this competition is difficult, whether at home or away.

The key positive is we-ve demonstrated significant improvement as a team over the last five matches, which has instilled great confidence in the squad.

As the Mariners are likely to pose a different challenge to that of the Gold Coast, we may need to make a few subtle changes to our system and formation.

However, given the performance of the team last week, we-re unlikely to make too many changes as the boys which played at Skilled Park deserve another chance.
