E-League Preview: City v Adelaide

Melbourne City will be looking to make it four from four in the E-League this week as it faces Adelaide United.

Marcus Gomes and Josh Wood have put the disappointment of Round 1’s loss to Sydney well behind them, going on a four game winning streak to hold third position.

If last week was a six pointer, this week will be even more so with three points separating the two sides in third and fourth respectively. A win for City will keep the heat on the unbeaten Central Coast and Sydney while a loss will see Gomes and Wood brought back to the chasing pack lead by the Reds.

Last week was Wood’s time to shine with a convincing win on the PlayStation platform and he’ll look to continue that form, hitting his straps in the E-League. It wont be easy for both Wood and Gomes, coming up against Zac May-Burgess and Jamie O’Doherty.

The Adelaide pairing have gone loss-win-loss-win in their opening four matches and the City duo will be looking for them to continue that trend this week.

Three points will be a must for City coming into this one with Sydney and Central Coast taking on sides in the bottom half.
