Melbourne City will look to secure a top two spot in the E-League’s final round on Thursday as it faces Wellington Phoenix.
After the Round 1 loss to Sydney, City have gone undefeated in the E-League, recording six wins and a draw to sit in second position – two points behind Sydney FC.
Marcus Gomes was the difference last week against the Central Coast as he picked up the aggregate win on both consoles to leap frog the Mariners on the ladder.
It’ll be up to Josh Wood to return the favour for Gomes this week with City’s eSports player off to Manchester for the second FUT Champions Weekend where he takes on the top 64 players in the world.
Wellington currently sit second last in the competition and will look to bounce back after a loss to bottom placed Victory.
