FFA Cup Match Details: City vs Victory

Melbourne City FC’s Westfield FFA Cup Semi Final tie against cross-town rivals Melbourne Victory will be held at AAMI Park on Tuesday 25 October, kick-off at 7:30pm (AEST).

The match, which will be broadcast LIVE on Fox Sports, will supplement an action-packed month of football in Melbourne, with both sides set to engage in Melbourne Derby hostilities in Round 2 of the Hyundai A-League; only 10 days before squaring off in the FFA Cup.

City qualified for its second consecutive Semi Final in style after goals to Michael Jakobsen, Bruno Fornaroli, Tim Cahill and Fernando Brandan secured a resounding 4-1 win over Western Sydney Wanderers at AAMI Park.

John van’t Schip’s side will aim to secure a maiden FFA Cup final berth at the expense of Victory, who progressed to the last four of the tournament with a 2-0 win over Bentleigh Greens on Tuesday night.

Despite being drawn as the ‘away’ side, City will take great comfort from its formidable Derby record at AAMI Park, emerging with wins in three of the past four encounters at the venue.

Thomas Sorensen displayed all of his derby experience to repel everything that came his way during a memorable 2-1 home Derby win last season, while the sheer genius of Bruno Fornaroli lit up AAMI Park in the final Derby of the 2015/16 season.

Ticketing information for each of the Westfield FFA Cup 2016 Semi Finals will be released soon by each home club. Please visit www.theffacup.com.au for further details.
