Historically, Melbourne Heart have had the better of Sky Blues.

When it comes to showdowns against Sydney FC, there have been some fascinating encounters between the two sides.

Who could forget when John Aloisi, in the final game of his illustrious career, scored against Sydney – his former club – for Melbourne Heart in February 2011?

That same year, Melbourne Heart recorded their biggest win on record, with a 4-0 thrashing of the Sky Blues – which has left Sydney squirming whenever they face our mighty boys in Red.

Most recent in the memories of Melbourne Heart supporters would be last season-s impressive 3-1 demolition job over Alessandro Del Piero-s side at AAMI Park, in front of over 13,000 fans.

In fact, the Red and White have enjoyed a positive record against Sydney, with three wins, five draws and just one loss in nine encounters – and Sydney FC have kept just one clean sheet in their last eight league games against Melbourne Heart.

Tonight-s match looms as another tantalising encounter, with a number of sub-plots, including the return to AAMI Park of former Melbourne Heart players Matt Thompson and Richard Garcia in Sky Blue.

Club Songs
After casting a vote and collecting results before our first home match of the season, Melbourne Heart FC fans voted for a Club walk-out track and a Club song for the 2013-14 season.

When the players emerge from the tunnel, Melbourne Heart fans are encouraged to watch the big screen and follow the lead of the Yarraside and sing ‘When the Heart Go Marching In-.

Just before kick-off, the crowd will also sing Melbourne Heart-s adopted Club song ‘So Happy Together-. Check out the lyrics on the big screen and chant along!
