The Round One showdown will be the first competitive hit-out for Joe Palatsides- new-look side, after the team played a number of friendly matches in pre-season.

Palatsides has retained eight players from last year-s squad, while adding six new faces in the off-season after a solid recruitment drive.

Stipo Andrijasevic, Alastair Bray, Ersin Kaya, Chris Maynard, Andrew Mullett, Phil Petreski, Paul Retre, Marko Stevanja and Andrew Cartanos remain from last season-s squad.

Former Australian Under 17 representative Hernan Espindola (Pascoe Vale), Luke O-Dea (Bentleigh Greens), Marcus Schroen (Den Bosch, Netherlands), Ross Archibald (Brisbane Roar), Alex Dao (FC Bulleen Lions) and Slavisa Saric (Oakleigh Cannons) are the new boys on the block.

Melbourne Heart FC finished sixth in the National Youth League last season and will be hoping to start the campaign with three wins on the road.
