Since launching in March 2018, This Girl Can has inspired over 285,000 women across Victoria to get active. This Girl Can is a celebration of women being physically active no matter how they look or what their skill level is.
With no experience required, This Girl Can provides a no judgement environment, encouraging women to overcome fears and break barriers which often hold women back from getting active.
This Girl Can is more than just physical activity, it’s about empowering women to be comfortable in their bodies and in public spaces.
In 2020, Melbourne City FC will continue to support This Girl Can events across Melbourne and Victoria, offering an exciting opportunity for women and children to jump on pitch and have some fun!
On Saturday 15 February, you can visit the This Girl Can Pop Up at Queensbridge Square. Enjoy all the action between 12:00pm – 3:00pm, with a Soccer Mums taster session, live DJ, free FroYo for participants, rock up and play for kids and your chance to win two free Soccer Mums programs.
This Girl Can and the Club will also release a series of videos, featuring former Matildas legend and current Melbourne City player Melissa Barbieri, commencing on Wednesday 12 February, so make sure you keep an eye out!
