Goalkeeping Clinic A Runaway Success

Former Ajax Amsterdam stopper Joey Didulica has joined Goalkeeper Coach Peter Zois and Clint Bolton in delivering Melbourne Heart FC’s first ever Goalkeeping Clinic at the La Trobe University Sports Fields in Bundoora.

Former Ajax Amsterdam stopper Joey Didulica has joined Goalkeeper Coach Peter Zois and Clint Bolton in delivering Melbourne Heart FC-s first ever Goalkeeping Clinic at the La Trobe University Sports Fields in Bundoora.

The trio hosted over 40 youngsters during the two-day workshop which provided burgoening ‘keepers with insights from players who have plied their trade at the elite level.

Goalkeeper Coach Peter Zois, who was instrumental in orchestrating the clinic program, was delighted with success of the event.

“I thought the days ran really well. The ‘keepers who attended trained great and were extremely enthusiastic.” he said.

“We’ve established a great base to build from and I look forward to the Goalkeeping Clinic becoming a regular part of the Club’s community program in future.”

General Manager, Community, Sue Crow thanked the participants for attending the clinic, saying it was a runaway success.

“We had a fantastic turnout for the clinic and the Club would like to express its thanks to each and every participant who took part,” Crow said.

“Joey, Clint and Peter are among the most experienced ‘keepers in Australia, and the insights and knowledge they were able to impart on the youngsters was outstanding.

“The Club looks forward to staging more clinics of this kind in the future.”

A former Socceroo, Bolton has claimed five national championships, while Zois spent nine years playing abroad, including the Dutch Eredivisie and is a former Young Socceroo.

Didulica meanwhile has enjoyed an accomplished career in Europe, earning four caps for the Croatian national team including selection to the 2006 World Cup, in addition to a Dutch title with AZ Alkmaar.
