A spectacular performance from Marcus Gomes has seen Melbourne City take out its first points in the E-League on Thursday night, defeating Perth Glory 7-5 on a two-leg aggregate score.

Gomes was a determined figure against David Cook, turning around a 4-1 deficit in the first leg to secure his side’s first win of the competition.

Josh Wood’s first-leg against the in-form man of the competition Peter Saisanas saw him all square at the break, but a strong finish saw the Glory man take a three goal advantage into the XBOX leg.

City’s eSports competitor was a man on a mission as he reversed the 4-1 deficit in the opening half and didn’t look back from there, as he scored two more goals to put the tie beyond doubt.

Gomes was also named the Player of the Round for his performance, recording the biggest individual win in the E-League so far this season.
