Melbourne Heart FC is delighted to announce it has been named as a finalist in the 2012 Melbourne Awards in the category of ‘Contribution to Community by a Corporation.-

The Contribution to Community category is awarded to projects or activities that enhance the lives of residents and workers in a variety of ways including new approaches to community services and volunteer work, and will see Heart line-up against programs by the Melbourne Market Authority, and ironically enough, Westpac and The Big Issue.

Now in its 10th year, the Melbourne Awards, which are staged by the City of Melbourne, provide an opportunity to honour and celebrate the city-s high achievers, recognising their outstanding contributions in the areas of sustainability, community and the profile of the city.

Lord Mayor Robert Doyle said: “The Awards tell the inspirational stories of passionate Melburnians who shape our city and have helped make Melbourne one of the world-s most liveable cities.

“Each of these finalists joins a rich legacy of Melburnians and organisations recognised over the past decade, establishing events, projects and businesses that embody the energy and culture of the city.”
