Melbourne Heart FC and Westpac have marked the arrival of the forthcoming Hyundai A-League season with a video celebrating the Club-s connection with its home – the world-s sporting capital, Melbourne.

Entitled ‘The Team behind Melbourne-s Team-, over 12 hours of footage was recorded and a team of 20 worked on the production of the video, which sought to capture the essence of Melbourne.

Featuring the city-s iconic laneways, yellow cabs, trams and streets, the video sees the entire Heart squad in action, freestyling through Melbourne-s CBD before arriving at City Square to stage an impromptu match.

Melbourne Heart FC Chief Executive Officer Scott Munn said the video pays fitting tribute to the city, while accurately capturing the importance of the Club-s partnership with major partner Westpac.

“With the Hyundai A-League season fast approaching, we-re delighted to celebrate our second season in the competition with the launch of today-s video,” he said.

“We feel the video genuinely encapsulates Melbourne Heart-s partnership with Westpac in addition to both our brands connection with this city.

“Our Club is proud of its role as Melbourne-s representative in the Hyundai A-League, and bears a distinct responsibility in reflecting the values we uphold as Victorians.”

As one of Heart-s high profile recruits this season, Socceroo David Williams features prominently throughout the video along with fellow Red and White heroes Alex Terra, Simon Colosimo, John Aloisi, Kristian Sarkies and Head Coach John van‘t Schip.

Williams said: “Although I-m only a new addition at Melbourne Heart, the depth of our connection with both Westpac and our home city, Melbourne, is abundantly clear.

“The playing group are delighted with the final cut of the video and hope it will be well received by the entire football community.”

Westpac Victoria State General Manager Retail, Ms Julie Rynski watched the filming firsthand.

“As you can clearly see in the video, our bank managers and branch team-members had an absolute ball and were honoured to be involved. Getting the chance to meet the Melbourne Heart players in person and join them for a fun kick-to-kick was a highlight for our staff,” Ms Rynski said.

“Westpac has been the major partner of the Melbourne Heart since its inaugural year in the A-League in 2010 and we-re pleased to support the team both on and off the field.”
