Melbourne Heart FC helped to raise $4,000 for local Victorian club Altona City SC on Saturday night, courtesy of Hyundai-s Goals For Grassroots program.

Goals for Grassroots is a support program established by Hyundai and aligned with all A-League clubs to provide grassroots football clubs with much-needed financial injection, courtesy of goals scored in nominated Hyundai A-League matches.

Hyundai provides a financial donation to a selected grassroots club based of a guaranteed $1,000, plus $1,000 per goal scored by the home team throughout the Hyundai A-League season.

Heart netted three goals in the six goal thriller against the Jets in the Club’s nominated round eight A-League fixture, which therefore contributed $4,000 to Altona City SC.

Altona received an initial cheque of $1,000 prior to kick-off, before two goals from Richard Garcia and one from Josip Tadic, from the penalty spot, boosted the total contribution.
