Melbourne Heart FC-s National Youth League side commenced its 2012/13 campaign in style last week against league newcomers Western Sydney Wanderers, but face a more difficult test against Central Coast Mariners tomorrow.
Heart kicked off the new campaign on a high at Cook Park last Saturday against the Wanderers, with Evan Batsis and Josh Groenewald netting in each half for the Heart in a dominant performance to give Joe Palatsides- side a 2-0 victory.
But the Mariners, the Youth League-s reigning champion, are likely to offer a more demanding test at John Cain Memorial Park tomorrow.
The Mariners knocked off the Newcastle Jets 2-1 in their first match, illustrating the champions haven't lost any potency, despite only retaining four players from last season.
With both teams starting brightly and aiming for two consecutive victories, the match is sure to be hotly contested.
Heart's midfielder Golgol Mebrahtu may make a comeback through the youth team, which will strengthen the side's attacking options.
Heart will need to be cautious of the visitor-s potential and John McLafferty-s new look side, although Palatsides is confident his side will produce a strong showing on home soil.
The match kicks off at 3pm on Saturday 27 October at John Cain Memorial Park, Thornbury.
