Melbourne Heart FC’s National Youth League side welcomes the Western Sydney Wanderers to Epping Stadium at 3pm this afternoon for their round 13 clash.

The Heart, who have had mixed results since securing four consecutive victories late in 2012, have second place in its sights with Joe Palatsides’ side just two points adrift of Melbourne Victory.

Heart are still in the title race, with only five points between themselves and league leaders Central Coast Mariners.

Heart enters the match against the Wanderers, who are languishing in second-last position, on a high after last weekend’s 3-1 win over the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra.

The inclusion of Cameron Edwards and Ben Garuccio in recent weeks has strengthened the side, which has continued to focus on developing youth players such as Jeremy Walker, Sam Mitchinson, Ersin Kaya and Stefan Mauk.
