Melbourne Heart FC midfielder Jason Hoffman has returned from Olyroos duty and is roaring to get back into action for the Red & White.

Hoffman missed the past two games for Heart due to national team commitments against Iraq in Doha and Uzbekistan in Sydney.

The Olyroos could only manage 0-0 draws in both of those games but Hoffman is upbeat upon his return and is looking forward to playing in the A-League once again.

“It was a good feeling to go into camp,” Hoffman said.

“Obviously me, Mate and Aziz were over the moon but it-s exactly the same feeling now coming back to Melbourne Heart.

“We watched the games overseas and we were more than happy to see the boys get the three points against Gold Coast but disappointed to see the Central Coast game.

“It would-ve been great to go six games unbeaten but it wasn-t to be and Central Coast got over us.”

Melbourne Heart will be taking on Wellington Phoenix in Morwell this Sunday and Hoffman is hopeful of getting a starting berth.

“I-m looking forward to it so much and hopefully I-m in the squad and I do well,” Hoffman said.

“My body feels good and I-m mentally refreshed and to be honest and I just can-t wait to get back into the action.

“We played Wellington in pre-season and we did more than enough to get the win but we know more about them now.

“I think we can be more than confident to go to Morwell and get the three points.”

Hoffman remains positive Heart can reach the set target of finals football come the end of the campaign.

”We-ve had a touch of bad luck in the start of the season,” Hoffman said.

“But the last few weeks especially have been a great run for the club and if we can continue that through the middle-section of the season then that could definitely set us up for where we want to be at the end of the season.

“I-m really happy to be back now at Melbourne Heart and I-m looking forward to the next period here and putting in some good performances for the Red & White.”
