Melbourne Heart FC youngster Kamal Ibrahim has been called up to the match day squad for tonight-s match against the Central Coast Mariners at AAMI Park.

A Young Socceroo, Ibrahim has been hampered this season by injury, but after successfully returning to full fitness, Head Coach John van ‘t Schip has opted to provide the Victorian with a chance to add to his sole professional appearance to date – against Brisbane Roar in September last year.

Ibrahim-s talents were recognised from a young age as the winger was offered a scholarship at the Australian Institute of Sport alongside fellow Heart players Eli Babalj and Brendan Hamill, who has also been named in the squad for the crucial Mariners clash.

The promotion of Hamill and Ibrahim to the Heart squad provides further evidence of the Club-s commitment to the advancement of generation next, which has been further reinforced by the recent National Youth League trials at La Trobe University.

Heart has handed debuts to six players this season including Victorian Premier League graduates Adrian Zahra, Nick Kalmar and Kliment Taseski.
