Important Finals Series Ticketing Information: Elimination Final

Thumbnail

It’s that time of the year again, the 2018/19 Hyundai A-League Finals Series has arrived. We have one goal – to go all the way – and we need your support as we look to make it through to the next round together.

Whether we take on Melbourne Victory at AAMI Park or Adelaide United at Coopers Stadium, make sure you secure your seat and support the team in this do-or-die Elimination Final.

Whichever way it falls, it’s sure to be popular so we strongly encourage members to purchase their tickets during the member pre-sale to ensure ticket availability – we need you there!

The final round equation

If City finish in sixth position – as the table currently stands – we take on Melbourne Victory at AAMI Park.

The only way City will take on Adelaide United at Coopers Stadium, is if we beat Central Coast in Round 27 and Perth Glory beat Wellington Phoenix – with a seven-goal turnaround in the goal difference category. For example, City will need to beat Central Coast 5-0, and Perth beat Wellington 2-0. Or 4-3 and 6-0 respectively. You get the picture!

City currently sit in sixth position, three points behind Wellington, although Wellington are +6 ahead of City in the goal difference category. This means that City will need to be seven goals better off than Wellington, because the ‘Nix have scored 12 more goals than City – if both teams finish on equal goal difference, ladder positions will be decided by goals for.

So, what does this mean?

It’s looking likely that we take on Melbourne Victory at AAMI Park on Friday 3 May, kick-off 7:50pm, in a blockbuster Melbourne Derby Elimination Final.
