Injury Time - Week 10

Despite suffering an injury scare over the weekend, Melbourne Heart FC defender Adrian Madaschi will be available for selection as the Club looks ahead to its match-up with Brisbane Roar at Suncorp Stadium on Friday night.

Despite suffering an injury scare over the weekend, Melbourne Heart FC defender Adrian Madaschi will be available for selection as the Club looks ahead to its match-up with Brisbane Roar at Suncorp Stadium on Friday night.

Madaschi limped off with a suspected calf problem during the regional encounter against the Wellington Phoenix after producing another sterling display in the centre of defence.

However, after undergoing assessment from the Club-s medical staff, the four-time Socceroo has been ruled fit, proving Head Coach John van ‘t Schip with the opportunity to once again field his first choice back four in Queensland.

Fellow defender Simon Colosimo meanwhile will resume full training this week after being sidelined with a knee injury for the last fortnight.

Colosimo has endured an interrupted start to the Hyundai A-League season, with injury and suspension conspiring to force him out of the Heart match day squad more often than not.

While the 32-year-old is unlikely to be considered for selection this week, with van ‘t Schip set to err on the side of caution, Colosimo-s return means the Heart injury list only extends to two.

Nick Kalmar is still at least four weeks away from a return to full time training due to a back injury, while Kliment Taseski remains a long term proposition as he seeks to overcome a fractured foot.

Although Adrian Zahra is no longer on the injury list, the 20-year-old is yet to fall under selection consideration, building confidence and form with John Aloisi-s high flying National Youth League side.
