Fitness has been a key focus in the off season for Melbourne Heart and the Club’s High Performance Manager Tom Reddin gives you an insight into some of the injury-prevention strategies in pre-season.

Reddin recently contributed an article to the newly established Athlete 2.0 microsite for 2XU – the Club’s compression garment partner – on reducing the risk of hamstring injury.

“Hamstring injuries remain one of the most common injuries in sports that involve high speed running,” Reddin said.

“Even at the elite level, with all the resources available, it remains a significant problem.

“Take a look at the injury list of any AFL or A-League club during the season and there will usually be at least one player unavailable for selection due to a hamstring injury.
