City forward Tim Cahill has been selected in the 30-man preliminary squad for the vital AFC World Cup 2018 play-off against Syria.
Cahill is one of four A-League players selected in the extended squad for the two-legged play-off with the first match being played on Thursday 5 Ocotber in Malaysia.
The final squad will be finalised closer to the match with the second leg being played on Tuesday 10 October in Sydney
