Melbourne City FC co-captain Jess Fishlock has been selected in the Welsh national team ahead of next week’s UEFA Women’s Euro qualifier against Kazakhstan.

The former Welsh captain departed Melbourne two days ago and will be unavailable for this week’s Round 6 clash against Brisbane Roar.

The 28-year-old made her international debut in 2006 before she was given the captains armband in 2013.

After two consecutive losses against Austria and Norway, Wales are placed fifth in Group 8 with two points.

Wales will host Kazakhstan in Haverfordwest on November 26th.

Fishlock has represented the national team on 87 occasions, scoring 28 goals

The midfielder has been outstanding for Joe Montemurro’s side since making her debut in Round 3, scoring her first goal for the Club in last week’s 2-0 win over Adelaide United.
