International City: Seven Melbourne City FC players jet off for international duty

Seven Melbourne City FC Women’s players have been selected to represent their country ahead of next week’s international fixtures.

Matildas quartet Lisa De Vanna, Steph Catley, Larissa Crummer and Laura Alleway will pull on the Green and Gold in a friendly against Korea Republic while Scottish pair Kim Little and Jennifer Beattie will be apart of their nations UEFA Women’s EURO 2017 qualifiers.

New Zealand defender Rebekah Stott has also earned selection for the Football Ferns ahead of a two match tour of Brazil next week.

The Matildas will travel to Incheon for a one-off tie on 29 November in preparation for February’s Olympic qualifying tournament.

It marks the third occasion Joe Montemurro’s Matildas have been called up to the national team since the season kicked off in October.

Little and Beattie will depart for Scotland during the week where the duo will face Macedonia at Saint Mirren Park in Paisley.

Scotland currently leads Group One’s standings, tallying maximum points from its three fixtures.

Placed 16 in FIFA’s rankings, New Zealand will play its first game against Brazil in Sao Paulo on November 28 with the second match to follow in Cuiaba on December 1.

With a scheduled bye this weekend in the W-League, the group will be available – alongside Jess Fishlock – for Melbourne City FC’s next match against Melbourne Victory on 6 December.
