Melbourne City FC defender Rebekah Stott has been selected in New Zealand’s squad ahead of next week’s Olympic qualifiers against Papua New Guinea.

The 22-year-old, who has made 42 appearances for the Lady Ferns will be unavailable for Monday’s semi-final clash against Brisbane Roar.

It’s the second time Stott has been called up to the national team this after travelling to Brazil in late November.

The first of two legs will be held in Papua New Guinea on Saturday 23 January where the reverse fixture will be played in Auckland on Tuesday 26 January.

An integral member of New Zealand’s set-up, Stott has been superb in defense for Joe Montemurro’ side this season, usually deployed as a centre-half or full back.
