Melbourne City young guns Anthony Lesiotis, Dylan Pierias, Moudi Najjar and Ramy Najjarine have all been selected in the Australian U18 squad to take on the SBS Cup in Japan this August.
The highly regarded international youth football tournament will see the group take on Japan, Paraguay and a local Shizuoka selected side as a precursor to the 2019 AFC U19 Championships that will be held in Indonesia this year.
Lead by Socceroos Assistant Coach Ante Milicic, the side will take to Japan for the tournament to be held between August 16-19 and Milicic says the tournament will provide a platform for the group to be exposed to international football.
“Playing against strong under 18 teams from Japan and Paraguay will test this group of boys individually and collectively, and provide us with the opportunity to benchmark them against their peers on an international level.” Milicic said.
The group were a part of the Melbourne City side to tour India, gaining invaluable experience against international opponents as they continue to develop at City Football Academy, Melbourne.
