Jamieson to remain in Melbourne after birth of first child

Melbourne City FC captain Scott Jamieson will remain in Melbourne for the remainder of the 2019/20 Hyundai A-League season after the birth of his child.

Jamieson and his partner welcomed Cooper into the world on Tuesday, becoming a father for the first time.

With the period between the birth and the minimum time allowed for the defender to return to the hub – including New South Wales quarantine – Jamieson, with the Club’s full support, made the decision to remain with his family during the period.

“In what has been a tough decision, I want to let you know I won’t be returning to the hub to finish this season out,” Jamieson said.

“I have full faith that we can finish what we set out to do. I appreciate all the messages and look forward to supporting the lads with you all. COYCB.”

Josh Brillante will take the captain’s armband in Jamieson’s absence.

The Club would like to wish Scott, his partner and Cooper the best as they support us as a new family from home!
