Kew Jaliens

Kew Jaliens joins Melbourne City FC as an injury replacement for fellow Dutchman Rob Wielaert and brings a wealth of experience from both the Hyundai A-League and overseas.

The versatile defender was the captain of the Newcastle Jets before heading south to Melbourne and the former Sparta, Willem II, AZ Alkmaar and Wisla Krakow man has won titles and represented his club in UEFA Champions League ties on a number of occasions.

Jaliens has represented his country on 10 times, most notably at the 2006 FIFA World Cup, where his Dutch side took on Argentina and at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and has rekindled his relationship with former Dutch assistant and now Melbourne City FC Head Coach John van’t Schip.
