Former Club captain and Socceroos legend Harry Kewell has been appointed as the Under 21 Head Coach of English Premier League outfit Watford.

This will be Kewell’s first squad coaching role since retiring from football in 2014 and will lead his side in their first campaign of the Professional Development League 2 South.

Speaking to the Watford website, Watford’s Sporting Director Luke Dowling said Kewell’s experience will help develop his club’s future stars.

“Harry enjoyed an extremely successful career as a player and he now has a proven track record when it comes to working with and nurturing gifted young footballers,” Dowling said.

“His knowledge and experience will be of great benefit to the club’s youth set up as a whole and the talented players we have within our U21 group.”

The Club would like to congratulate our former captain in the first chapter of his coaching career.
