Key Battle: Kamau v Krishna

It’ll be the battle of the ‘Special K’s’ up front on Saturday as dangerous wingers Bruce Kamau and Roy Krishna will look to give their sides the three points in an intriguing encounter at AAMI Park.

Kamau has been the talk of the town this season, netting three times in the opening two matches and has provided a cutting edge to City’s front third. Despite Krishna’s lack of goals, the Fijian international has provided an assist and made two key passes against Adelaide and Sydney which has him going on a slow burn so far this season.

It’s almost been a role reversal for these two compared to their stats during 2016/17 with Kamau having more shots on target than Krishna while the City man has put in zero crosses so far compared to his counterpart who has whipped in 3.

This change might reflect the different roles both players have had under their respective new coaches and could mean more goals for Kamau heading into this one and more danger on the wing for Krishna.

What has let down the Nix flyer down this season has been his attitude off the ball. Spells during the Sydney match saw the Fijian frustrated and he’s conceded six fouls already, while Kamau has won five fouls and hasn’t conceded one.

By the way the cards have fallen so far, these two wingers will have a say on the outcome of Saturday’s contest in what should be an exciting battle on both sides of the park.
